90Y Radioembolization Of Colorectal Hepatic Metastases Using Glass Microspheres: Safety And Survival Outcomes From A 531-Patient Multicenter Study
Intervention
(90)Y glass microsphere treatments for colorectal liver metastases
Patient population
531 patients received (90)Y radioembolization for colorectal liver metastases
Conclusion
This multiinstitutional review of a large cohort of patients with colorectal liver metastases treated with (90)Y radioembolization using glass microspheres has demonstrated promising survival outcomes with low toxicity and low side effects. The outcomes were reproducible and consistent with prior reports of radioembolization
A Prospective Randomized Trial Comparing Percutaneous Local Ablative Therapy And Partial Hepatectomy For Small Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
Intervention
Percutaneous local ablative therapy (PLAT) with surgical resection in the treatment of solitary and small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)
Patient population
80 patients with a solitary HCC <= 5cm
Conclusion
PLAT was as effective as surgical resection in the treatment of solitary and small HCC. PLAT had the advantage over surgical resection in being less invasive.
